70% of sudden cardiac arrests happen at home.
When a heart stops, the first few minutes matter most, and the person standing there is the one who makes the difference. That person can be you. In 2024, more than 10,000 EMS calls for cardiac issues were dispatched in Virginia Beach.
The life you save is most likely someone you love.
Pick a date. We'll save you a seat.
Every class is free and open to the community. Come on your own or bring the whole household.
Who this is for: new parents, church groups, scouts, babysitters, and anyone who wants to be ready.
Dates are from the squad's current published class schedule. In the final build, seats are reserved through Microsoft Bookings, so the calendar stays current and confirmations are automatic.
Skills you can use the same day.
No medical background needed and no jargon. The class is led by the squad's own experienced member instructors, and covers the few things that make the difference before help arrives.
We follow the American Heart Association Family and Friends CPR program: adult, child, and infant CPR, AED use, and how to relieve choking.
General principles, trauma and medical emergencies, and what to do in environmental situations, so you can act with a clear head.
Tourniquets and pressure, the skills that buy time. Simple, hands-on, and yours to keep for the day it counts.
This is not a certification class, and accommodations for the hearing impaired are readily available.
